Lazy River Farms is a family-owned business in the Brant Lake-Lake George, New York (NY) area that has been in continuous operation since 1960. We grow our own hanging baskets and foundation flowers in our on-site greenhouses starting in February. We also sell shrubs, garden supplies, gifts, propane, and seasonal items such as Xmas trees, wreaths and gifts. We provide free consultation on growing flowers in the North Country.

The greenhouses were moved in 1970 to the current location off Exit 23 of the Northway in Lake George, NY. This larger location includes the store, three large greenhouses, a gift shop, barn, and small storage house, and Lots of Parking!

We are expanding the gift shop, and planning on offering products for sale on our website in 2011.

Plant Growing Process - On-Site Greenhouses

In December Tom selects Proven Winner seeds for the season. Starting in February he plants them in specially prepared soil in flats in the on-site greenhouses. 

The seedlings are transplanted to individual pots for foundation plants, and baskets for the hanging plants. The greenhouses are heated continuously from February until the weather warms - usually by April.

We encourage you to come see this growing operation in the greenhouses. Groups are welcome. It is very warm from February through April!

Our store operates year-round. The schedule is:

• Year-Round: Garden supplies, gifts and propane.
• May-October: Flowers, hanging baskets and shrubs.
• October-December: Xmas trees, wreaths, and gifts.
